Proposed move of Cunliffe day service to Acton
The committee agreed to ask for a further report on moving Cunliffe Centre services to Acton Community Resource Centre, due at its September 2026 meeting or sooner. The report must cover whether a decision was made, the audit trail of any delegation, meeting records, how the decision was communicated, and whether consultation and equality duties were met. The committee also agreed to support the pause on the move until that report has been through scrutiny.

Relocating the Cunliffe day service to Acton Resource Centre
The committee noted the updated position on relocating the Day Service, including a revised plan to build an extension at Acton Resource Centre that would also keep space for community groups. It supports continued structured engagement with local members, community groups, families, carers and staff on the design and running of the revised plan. It noted that a further report will go to the Executive Board once detailed extension plans have been agreed with local members, users' views have been submitted, planning permission and funding are in place, and a joint running model for the centre has been agreed. The committee will receive regular progress reports, at the discretion of the Chair and Vice-Chair.

Relocation of Day Service
The Board noted the updated position on moving the Cunliffe Day Service, and the need to find a suitable building. It approved transferring Acton Resource Centre from Economy and Planning to Social Care, and supported a revised proposal for the centre. That proposal will explore an extension and phased work to allow the service to move in and community use to be shared.

The committee commended officers and Lead Members on the report. It asked that future reports on controversial issues set out where, when and by whom decisions were made, including minutes of Senior Leadership Team and Lead Member meetings held following prior consultation with this committee.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
