RESOLVED – (i) That the review of the Council’s Suitability Criteria for Drivers and Operators in line with the new DfT Statutory Standards and the Welsh Government’s Harmonisation of Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Licensing be approved. (ii) That consultation be undertaken with the trade and the wider public on draft Suitability Criteria.

RESOLVED – That consideration of report COEP/13/24 be deferred to the next Meeting to afford those Committee Members not present the opportunity to participate in debate.

RESOLVED – That the implementation of the draft Suitability Criteria be deferred to allow the Committee to fully consider the range of options to address the provisions of paragraph 3.5 of the DfT standard for existing licence holders.
