Homes and Environment Scrutiny Committee. Scrutiny committees question decisions and can recommend changes. They don't make the decision.
Highway safety inspection and winter service policies
The committee agreed seven points. It asked for a future report on highway policies for utility companies and planning developments. It agreed to add what 3 words to the carriageway repair reporting form, to communicate better with people whose repair reports do not go ahead, and to hold an all-member workshop on winter maintenance practice. It asked for ways of reporting salt levels in salt bins via QR code to be investigated, and for a set period for refilling salt bins to be added to the winter maintenance policy. It recommended the draft policies for approval by the Executive Board, subject to these changes.
Executive Board. The Cabinet makes most of the council's decisions.
Highway safety inspection and winter service policies
The Board agreed to continue to support the reviewed Highway Safety Inspection Policy and Highway Winter Service Policy, in their current format.
Items are linked when their titles share most of their words and they fall within 18 months of each other. Councils don't number reports across meetings, so a few links may be wrong, and a step may be missing if its title changed a lot. Each step links to the meeting, where the council's own papers are.
